Scientific Explanation of Why We Hear Laurel/Yanny Differently

According to a hearing professor at the University of Arizona, it comes down to recording quality, speaker quality, and a lot of audio sciencey stuff like acoustic resonance of our vocal chords.

That also explains why when the recording is pitched up or down, we hear it differently.
