24,000 Seat Cricket Stadium Being Proposed in Oswego??

A letter circulated to residents near Orchard Road and Tuscany Trail in Oswego outline the plans to propose a large cricket stadium to be build in Oswego.

I have not heard anything from city officials on this, but paperwork was mailed to residents near the location of the proposed development.

The letter says an informational open house is scheduled for Thursday, August 24th between 6-8pm at the Oswego Public Library’s Oswego Campus on Jefferson Street.

The proposal for Breybourne Stadium, as it’s currently called, would have it sit on 34 acres on the northwest corner of of Orchard and Tuscany Trail which is farm land currently. It would include an outdoor cricket stadium with hotel and restaurants facing Orchard Road, according to a letter sent to residents that was shared with us by Lorie Witzel who lives near the planned development.

Besides the circular 24,000 seat stadium, the plan calls for a 14,000 foot member club house that would include a restaurant and lounge, event space and office space. There would be around 1,500 parking spaces throughout the lot serving the detached restaurant, stadium and 120-room hotel.

The developer is Chakra 360 LLC out of Chicago, according to paperwork mailed with the letter. I have no been able to locate any sort of online presence from them, which is a little strange, however Shoppe Design Associates is listed at the bottom of the plans, and they are a local Oswego company. I have sent them an email for comment.

The library has confirmed the meeting, but no word on if this has been addressed during a city council meeting or when that may occur.
