30 Day Music Challenge - Day 24

Actually I really like tonight’s question although I have added some rules to it to make it a bit more of a challenge. On Day 24 of the 30 Day Music Challenge, the question is …. A song by a band you wish were still together? Now hold your horses … I know where your mind is going … I know who you are going to pick… but let’s up our game a bit. Let’s make it a band that actually could still get back together … so if it’s a band that has lost a member then they are disqualified. So sorry… no Nirvana, no Clash, no Queen and no Beatles.

So my first thought was The Smiths. Because although Morrissey and Johnny Marr have gone on to make great solo records … in my opinion they have never made anything alone that came close to the greatness that they made together. (Side note… Morrissey is teaming up with Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong on the upcoming cover album California Son where they are covering the Fifth Dimension’s tune ‘Wedding Bell Blues’) … okay back on topic…BUT THEN … I read that the Smashing Pumpkins had just announced a tour with Noel Gallagher. Noel of course is one half of the Gallagher brothers who made up Oasis. You can check out a documentary on Netflix right now called Supersonic all about the bands rise to fame. These brothers were notorious for not getting along but dear God they made amazing music together. Noel is the song writer but no one sings his songs better than Liam. So with a nudge in that direction I decided to change my answer … Day 23 of the 30 Day Music Challenge … A song by a band you wish were still together? I give you the Gallagher brothers and one of my favorite 90’s bands … Oasis.
