“Get Back” by The Beatles shot to #1 on Billboard’s Pop chart where it would remain for 5 weeks, becoming the group’s 17th US #1 record.

1975

The nine-piece band known as Earth, Wind And Fire saw their song “Shining Star” reach the top of the Billboard singles. It was the group’s seventh single and the first to crack the Top 20.

49 year old Gene Clark, vocalist for The Byrds, died after suffering a heart attack.

Billy Joel was sued by his former drummer for hundreds of thousands of dollars in unpaid royalties. Liberty Devitto claimed that Joel hadn’t paid him proper royalties for 10 years of his work and that he was abruptly kicked out of the band without so much as a phone call..
