A (Delicious!) Chicago Institution Comes to Our Backyard

Hi, Leslie Harris in for Mitch Michaels, and we can finally have our rainbow and eat it too!

The Original Rainbow Cone opened in 1926, but I had never had one.

A Rainbow Cone consists of 5 slices of ice cream, not scoops, and includes chocolate, strawberry, vanilla with nuts and cherries, pistachio and orange sherbet.

I have been hearing about the Original Rainbow cone for many years, but I had never made the pilgrimage to 9233 South Western Avenue in the Beverly neighborhood of Chicago, where the only location existed, until now. My kids and I were pretty excited that the Original Rainbow Cone has now opened in Lombard, right on Roosevelt Road, AND, one is coming soon to Darien, so we’ll have multiple opportunities to get our Rainbow fix on.

You can also find Rainbow Cone food trucks, and even have a Rainbow Cone truck come to your event.
