A delightful Production of Into The Woods in Aurora
Hi this is Leslie Harris, and I recently attended a performance of Into the Woods at the Paramount Theatre in Aurora. What a delightful production!
If you’re unfamiliar with the story, several of your favorite storybook characters meet, and we see what happens when they pursue their deepest desires, as opposed to what is right and good.
The story features Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel, Cinderella and more. However, the script is written in a very campy style, and is not intended for kids under the age of 10.
The immensely talented Larry Yando plays the part of the narrator. You may know Larry from his years of playing Ebenezer Scrooge at the Goodman Theatre’s production of A Christmas Carol.
The music and lyrics are by Stephen Sondheim, so you know you’ll enjoy them as well, and the set is breathtaking.
It’s a very funny show, but there are some very dark moments.
I highly recommend Into the Woods at the Paramount Theatre in Aurora, playing now through March 19th.
