A Fun Way For Kids (and adults) To Learn Some History with Snoopy

Hi, it’s Leslie Harris filling in for Nick Jakusz. Looking for something different to do with the kids? I myself just might have to make a trip to the Elmhurst History museum, because I love Snoopy. (I might even make my adult kids go with me.)

The museum has a new exhibit is called, To the Moon: Snoopy Soars with NASA.

In May of 1969, Snoopy became an ambassador for the US space program. Now at the Elmhurst History Museum you can learn about how Snoopy and other Peanuts characters helped to promote NASA’s Manned Flight Awareness Safety program. You can see some of the NASA themed comic strips, as well as photographs, and video footage. You can also find out about NASA astronauts from the Chicago area.

You must make a reservation before you go. Find out more about the Elmhurst History Museum, and all of their exhibits HERE
