Hi this is Leslie Harris and I hate being cold. I’ve lived in the Chicago area my entire life. I love it here. I love all of the arts, entertainment, nature, shopping – I feel like we’ve got a little bit of everything.
Unfortunately, we also have Midwest winters. I get cold easily. My family even teases me about it, and I used to be miserable all winter long, but the pandemic changed all that.
You see, when we couldn’t go anywhere indoors, I started getting together and walking with friends outside. That’s when I started using toe warmers. You know, those funny little charcoal thingies that you see in on places like pharmacies and hardware stores?
It’s not an exaggeration to say that they changed my life. My toes used to get so cold that it was hard to get warm again, and then my whole body felt cold, and it really affected my mood. Plus it made me want to stay in the house.
Once I started using the toe warmers though, it actually became enjoyable to be outside. I went for many walks in the very cold weather with some wonderful friends. When it gets really REALLY cold, I even use the hand warmers.
What tips and tricks have you found that help you get through these cold winter months? Let me know in the comments
