A Little League Needs Help Replacing Stolen Equipment
Sometimes things happen that just really tick you off, and this is one of those times.
Someone broke into the equipment shed and stole everything from the Belmont Little League in Joliet. We’re talking everything from field draggers, line chalkers, aerators, rolls of fencing, lawn equipment, cement cutters, kitchen carts and hand tools.
There’s no good time for this, but opening day for the Belmont Little League is coming up.
And don’t get it twisted, this isn’t a league for the well-to-do who pay thousands to join and take trips around the country. This is a league that accepts any kid, regardless of their situation, and have been doing it for over half a century.
BLL is up to nearly 225 kids broken into 17 teams. That’s a lot of kids who are having their opportunity for fun and pride being taken away. Now they need some help replacing this equipment and making sure the kids in the league have the experience they deserve.
The vice-president of the board Dan Vestal was on the Slocum in the Morning Show on our sister station 1340 WJOL talking about the incident. Click here to listen.
If you can help, here’s the number for Mr. Vestal: 815-600-3921.
