A Look At Lemont's Next Big Thing - The Forge: Lemont Quarries Adventure Park

The Forge: Lemont Quarries broke ground in September of 2019, but it’s been in the works for years. Designing, land preparation and preservation, and construction of what will soon be a 300-acre, $35 million outdoor playground for adults…and kids!

There is a public community meeting on Thursday night at Lemont High School for people to meet the staff and get answers to any questions. You are asked to RSVP before you go.

As with any large undertaking, there are concerns. Will the new park limit free public use of the land? Will the new owners be stewards of the beloved natural resource that is the quarries of Lemont? What about all the traffic?

I was able to have a lengthy (30 minutes) talk with one of the co-founders of this outdoor lover’s paradise to talk about all the fun and answer some of the concerns that The Quarries are bringing to my beloved hometown of Lemont.
