Leslie Harris here, and I’ll admit it, I am not the most organized person, and I’m frequently running late. So when I’m going through security at an airport, I’m in a hurry to get to my gate, like so many  other people are. But wait, maybe you should slow down!

In 2018, people left almost a MILLION DOLLARS in coins behind in those plastic bins at TSA, more than $92,000 more than the previous year. That’s not all the people leave behind at TSA. They often leave belts, which I totally get, but what I don’t get is that people are leaving behind mobile phones, laptops and other valuable items. I did once leave my mobile phone, but thankfully realized it before I got on the plane.

So where does all that money go? Some of the money has been used to promote the TSA PreCheck program, but now the Department of Homeland Security they possibly use it to help fund border operations.

So maybe slow down? Maybe leave yourself a few extra minutes? Haha, yeah I know, I tell myself that all the time!  Have you ever left anything valuable behind at TSA? Let us know in the comments
