Aerosmith sign on the dotted line and the Stones go Disco in Today’s Rock History!

1975

After a New York performance, Aerosmith signed a $125,000 recording contract with Columbia Records.

1983

David Crosby, reported to have slept through most of his trial, was sentenced to eight years in prison for drug and firearms possession. He was paroled in 1986.

1992

Session drummer Jeff Porcaro, one of the most sought after musicians of the 1970s, died following cardiac arrest. Porcaro had played on Boz Scaggs’ “Silk Degrees” before forming Toto.

1978

The Rolling Stones saw their only Disco-style effort, “Miss You”, become their eighth number one single in the US. It has been reported that the lyrics were inspired by Mick Jagger’s deteriorating relationship with his wife, Bianca.
