On this date in 1967 – The Jimi Hendrix Experience opens for The Monkeys. Hendrix is drop after just six shows when he is told his act is not suitable for the Monkeys young audience. Does that shock anyone? LOL

1968 brings Pink Floyd to the Kinetic Playground in Chicago for their first North American appearance. It is also the first time David Gilmour plays live with the band after Syd Barrett’s departure.
