Are Your Boots Kinky?

Hey it’s Chis Miles – and I got a special early Valentines treat last night from my special girl. She took me and our extended family to see Kinky Boots! I gotta tell you it was a GREAT show!

The show is written by Geoff Deane and Tim Firth and tells the story of Charlie Prince,  who has inherited his father’s shoe factory, and his struggles to keep the factory a float. Charlie stumbles upon a cabaret performer and drag queen Lola, who helps inspire him to change his thinking about his customer base. The result is Price and Son’s line of “Kinky Boots” and along the way the discovery that Charlie and Lola are not so different after all. It’s even based on a true story!

Cyndi Lauper, famous for hits like “Girls Just wanna Have Fun” and True Colors”, is the author of the musical score and lyrics and her work is absolutely fabulous!. This guy was presently surprised to find his feet tapping and hands clapping along to it and I’m not a big musical fan so this is saying a lot.

If you have a music streaming subscription, look up the soundtrack and see if it doesn’t get your feet tapping too!

The bad news is the show closes it’s Chicago run today, but when it comes back I strongly suggest you go see the show. Everything about this show is amazing!
