Artists Wanted to Paint Seven-Foot Tall Guitars to Be Displayed this Summer in Downtown Joliet

With the progress being made on the Illinois Rock and Roll Museum and the unveiling of Gigantar outside its doors, it would seem downtown Joliet is really leaning into it’s newly-found rock and roll persona!

An local non-profit called The Art Movement, Inc is soliciting the help of any local or regional artists that would be interested in painting six-foot tall fiberglass guitar statues that will adorn downtown Joliet this Summer.

Each artist will get $1,500. Five hundred for committing to the project, $500 for supplies and $500 when the work is completed.

A ribbon cutting is planed for May. The guitars will be auctioned off at the end of the Summer to benefit future art and beautification projects in downtown Joliet.
