Aurora Ranked as Top City in Illinois to Start a Career

A new study from WalletHub ranked the best cities for recent college grads to start a new career in this year, based on 28 factors like salary, housing, opportunities for growth, and how many entry-level jobs there are.

The top ten are spread over nine different states.

1. Salt Lake City.

2. Orlando.

3. Atlanta.

4. Austin.

5. Columbia, South Carolina.

6. Charleston, South Carolina. It’s the only state with more than one city in the top ten.

7. Seattle.

8. Overland Park, Kansas.

9. Durham, North Carolina.

10. Scottsdale, Arizona

America’s biggest cities didn’t do very well. L.A. is 128th . . . Chicago, 149th . . . and New York City is third-to-last behind Newark and Hialeah, Florida.

As a matter of fact, Aurora came in a 141st. Sure, it sounds low on the list, but it is the highest ranking Illinois town on the list! So, if you are going to stay in Illinois and start a career, Aurora sounds like the best spot to do it in!
