Leslie Harris here, and usually, I get really excited for Halloween, but this year, I’m just not feelin’ it. I haven’t put any decorations up – not even my giant spider up on the front of my house.

I suspect it’s due to the fact that I’ve been under the weather for about a week and a half, and I’ve also been kind of overwhelmed with all of my foster cats. Several of them have minor health issues like fleas, runny noses and goopy eyes, but trying to get them healthy has been a real challenge.

But, this blog is about Halloween. I read that the average shopper is expected to spend $86.27 on Halloween this year. I think that’s crazy! And that’s down from last year’s average of $86.79! What the heck are people buying?

I usually add a decoration or two, some candy, a few pumpkins, and I MIGHT get a new costume, but I’ve never come close to spending that much. I MAY have bought a cute Day of the Dead table cloth this year.

Are you a big Halloween spender? How much do you think you’ll spend this year, and what are you buying? Let me know in the comments.
