Best since Quadrophenia? Maybe.

Looks like The Who, that is Roger and Pete, the Half-Who, is about to release their first new studio album as a band since 2006’s Endless Wire.  And Roger Daltrey, who actually had to be badgered by Pete into making it, is now completely on board.  He says that he thinks it’s the best thing The Who have made since Quadrophenia!

Now that could be doable.  What millions consider their best album hands down, Who’s Next, came before Quadrophenia.  The albums since then haven’t been bad — The Who By Numbers, Who Are You?, etc.  And their last studio album, Endless Wire, was not terrible but also not great.

And technically, the new one doesn’t even have to be as good as Quadrophenia for Roger to be right.  It just has to be better than any of the albums since then.  But that could be a tall order, since there were 2 albums in there with all the original members.

No word yet about a title or a release date, though it’s supposed to be this year.  Let’s hope it doesn’t go the way of Lifehouse.  And here’s hoping that Roger is right!  https://www.959theriver.com/syndicated-article?id=976398
