Summer is quickly approaching and 52% of Americans reported having unused vacations days last year… let’s not have that happen again! However, I do understand that going on vacation (especially as a big family) is not always in the budget.
BUT… WalletHub released its report on 2019’s Best & Worst Cities for Staycations! To identify this list, they compared more than 180 cities, focusing on 43 key indicators and the data they provided looks at everything from movie and bowling costs to spas and wellness centers per capita (among many other things).
One good thing that we have going for us is that Chicago land the #3 spot on the list fot the best staycation cities (behind Honolulu and Orland0). However Aurora was down near the bottom of the list, ranking #175 out of 182! I’m not sure that I understand that because I feel like Aurora has so many great amenities (arts, downtown restaurants, museums and festivals) that, to me, make it a great community to spend your time.
So I’m going to have to respectfully disagree with WalletHub on this one. What are your thoughts?
