In a pursuit that involved two law enforcement agencies, a pair of zebras managed to outrun authorities in right in nearby Pinegree Grove for more than two hours!
According to a rep for Illinois State Police, the wild chase occurred last weekend after the zebras broke out of a pen at Goebbert’s Pumpkin Patch. Despite being pursued by a bevy of officers from the State Police and the Pinegree Grove Police Department, the zebras stayed one step ahead of their pursuers until about 7:30 Sunday evening.
The zebras, which weren’t injured, have been returned to the pumpkin patch. And there’s no evidence that the fierce creatures tried to attack anyone. I don’t think they’re capable of that. As the referees of the animal kingdom, they have to remain neutral.
