Can you Believe I used to be a Packer Fan?
The first time I ever heard of the Green Bay Packers was in 1995. Prior to that I didn’t know much about football. I am from Detroit…we didn’t have football. I love telling that stupid joke. I remember the 1984 World Series with the Detroit Tigers. Later in the 80’s and early 90’s we had the Bad Boys from the Detroit Pistons – John Salley, Isiah Thomas, Rick Mahorn, Dennis Rodman, Joe Dumars, Vinnie Johnson & Bill Laimbeer. Detroit had great hockey, too! Watching Steve Yzerman, Bob Probert & Greg Stefan was very exciting. But Football wasn’t really ever on my tv or radio. Then I went to school in the UP. The UP is still Michigan, but most people up there support the Green Bay Packers. When I moved to Wisconsin I couldn’t go five feet without hearing about Brett Favre’s thumb or some other crazy fact about the Green and Gold. Tonight I’m gonna watch the Bears. They take on the Rams at 7:20pm. If we can’t start winning a few more games this season I won’t hear the end of it from Sara. She is a Packer fan and brought me to this tailgate party with the Stults. (Why they are Packer fans I do not know…they are like me – originally from Detroit!) But that’s how to get me to tailgate with the Pack….invite the hunks 🙂
