We’ve all been there – you can’t remember the name or the lyrics to a song, but you can hum a few bars.  Well, now Google has your back.

Google announced its new ‘hum to search’ feature, where users can hum, whistle, or sing a melody and Google will try find the song for you.

On your mobile device, open the latest version of the Google app or find your Google Search widget, tap the mic icon and say “what’s this song?” or click the “Search a song” button.

After 10-15 seconds, Google’s AI will search for the most likely candidates and display song titles, artist information, and even music videos.

It’s not perfect by any stretch of the imagination…or maybe I’m just a really really really bad hummer…but it’s new, so I’m going to cut it some slack! Have fun with it!

Oh, by the way, if you remember hearing a song that we played recently, but can’t remember the name or artist, we have a running list of our most recently played tunes! Check it out!
