Checking Out a New-To-Me Beach
Hi this is Leslie Harris, and I love the beach. This year I have been to beaches in Indiana, a few in Chicago, Evanston, and Wauconda. Yesterday, I knew it was going to be really hot, so before I came into work, I checked out Hall Quarry Beach in Batavia.
This is a great little beach, especially if you have young kids. It’s kind of like a cross between a pool and a beach.
There’s lots of shoreline with shallow water and sand for playing. They also have the big mushroom water sprinklers, lap lanes, a couple of slides, a low diving board, and a couple of higher platforms.
There is food to purchase, but you can also bring your own food and drink, as long as it’s non-alcoholic.
There are also chairs, but you can bring your own, which I recommend. Even though yesterday was cloudy, the beach was crowded and most of the chairs were filled.
