I’m not exactly Nature Boy, but I’m certainly in favor of anything that can help people without drugs. Especially when it comes to mental health. Well, a new study says playing video games can offer a boost to mental health – especially for older adults.
Researchers at the University of Utah have begun using video games to help treat depression among people over the age of 60.
The games are specially designed to be “interesting and palatable to older adults”. They say patients can begin to think and act differently after about two weeks. In some cases, the games proved more effective than antidepressants. Now that’s what I’m talkin’ about.
