Did A Guy Try to Steal ABC7 News Crew Equipment While They Were Shooting a Story About Crime Prevention?!

Sometimes you cover the story. Sometimes you ARE the story!

I haven’t seen it being reported elsewhere, but the Twitter account @CWBChicago posted audio of a supposed 911-call of the event. They say that a news crew from ABC7 was downtown at a train station doing a story about beefed up security by Chicago Police after an uptick in crime on the CTA.

Wouldn’t you know it…a guy starts to harass the news crew and tries to steal their equipment! Take a listen to the 911 audio.

Just DRIPPING with irony, but we’re glad no one was hurt (I think…I hope!).

Apparently the cameras weren’t on yet as I haven’t seen any video.
