Different song, same title

Obviously, though songs are protected by copyright laws, song titles are not.  It occurred to me that I can think of a lot of songs that have identical titles, but are completely different songs.  Mind you, I’m not talking about different versions of the same song, like Bruce Springsteen’s “Blinded by the Light” as opposed to Manfred Mann’s.  Even though those two versions are as different as night and day, it’s obviously the same song.

Here’s a good example.  “Dreams” by Van Halen, “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac, and “Dreams” by the Cranberries.  Three completely different songs with the same exact title.

Here are a couple more I can think of:

  • Rag Doll
    • Aerosmith
    • The Four Seasons
  • Rock of Ages
    • Def Leppaard
    • Traditional hymn
  • Learning to Fly
    • Tom Petty
    • Pink Floyd

Any others you can think of?
