Downtown Aurora’s RiverEdge Park Cancels Entire 2020 Summer Concert Series, Most Shows Rescheduled for 2021

This one hurts! The folks at RiverEdge Park in downtown Aurora have cancelled their entire summer schedule of shows. Personally, I LOVE going to REP. The venue is beautiful, the people are fantastic and the shows are awesome! I know it may seem too early to cancel things for the entire summer, and maybe it is, but I know for a fact that the people behind the scenes at RiverEdge have done everything in their power to keep it alive if they could. I’m not a concert promoter, but I imagine this is more about logistics than scheduling and restrictions during these hard times than anything else. The good news is that if you were looking forward to a show, it is probably on the docket for next year. Check out the entire statement here.
Dear RiverEdge Music Lover,We’ve spent the past few months analyzing possible ways to safely keep the music going this summer at RiverEdge Park, 360 N. Broadway in downtown Aurora. We’ve come to the determination, given the challenges that go along with COVID-19 and the recent capacity restrictions mandated by the state, that we simply can’t do our 2020 Summer Concert Series while ensuring the health and safety of everyone at RiverEdge. It breaks our hearts to have to make this difficult decision. The music and camaraderie at RiverEdge has become a part of the fabric of Aurora and the suburbs during the summer – but rest assured, music will fill the air next season. The good news is that we’ve been able to reschedule just about every artist to summer 2021. Below are the specifics for each show. If you currently have tickets to any of these events, they are still valid and automatically transferred for the rescheduled date. To give you time to check your schedule, you have up until 60 days prior to the new date to let us know if you can’t make it. If an event ends up not rescheduled, you can request a credit, refund or to donate your purchase. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call the box office at (630) 896-6666, Monday–Friday from 10 a.m.–2 p.m.It goes without saying that we appreciate your patience and your support as we continue to find our way through these challenging times together. Until RiverEdge opens next season, we encourage you to support other great area music venues, theaters and arts-related organizations. We are all in this together, and we all need one another. We hope you and your loved ones are healthy and safe.
