Bridge Communities’ Sleep Out Saturday

November 4 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

<h1 class="tribe-events-single-event-title">Bridge Communities’ Sleep Out Saturday</h1>

On Saturday, November 4th, and on other dates between October 27- December 2, hundreds of suburban residents will spend what promises to be a cold night inside tents, boxes and cars to raise awareness about family homelessness and funds for Bridge Communities’ transitional housing and mentoring program.

Families, youth groups and friends will participate in the 20th annual Sleep Out Saturday to experience an immersive and empathic night about family homelessness. The event has a fundraising goal of $125,000, which is raised by the ‘sleepers’ personal sponsors and corporate sponsorships. Many groups have invited special visits from Bridge Communities clients who will share their testimonials of moving from homelessness to hope.

To jumpstart Sleep Out Saturday 2023, an outdoor rally will be held in partnership with the College of DuPage, a longtime supporter of Sleep Out Saturday. Participants and the public are invited to the COD campus, 6:30 to 8:00 pm at the Lakeside Pavilion. Soup and bread will be made and served by the COD culinary arts students, plus music, prizes, a raffle, and SOS t-shirts for all Sleep Out participants.

Proceeds from Sleep Out Saturday benefit the 100+ homeless families served annually by Bridge Communities, and provide transitional housing, life-skills mentoring, financial counseling, employment training, tutoring, children’s services, nutrition coaching and more.

To sign up to sleep out, or to donate to Sleep Out Saturday participants, visit www.sleepoutsaturday.org.
