“The Underground” is a two-part play with music about a world without music. Written by playwright and lyricist Austin Lamewona with music by Brooke Vespoli and Maya Kociba, “The Underground” follows a group of musicians who start a music school in a desperate attempt to revive their dying artform. In spite of constant threats to stop from government agents, they remain determined to succeed.

Aug. 29-Sept. 1** at The Den Theatre (1331 N Milwaukee Ave) – Join Under The Umbrella Productions for a special production and live album recording session of “The Underground” complete with songs, spoken word, and dance. Rian Sondag directs with musical direction by Maya Kociba; assistant musical direction by Avery Pinta. undergroundplaywithmusic.com.

**The Aug. 30 performance will be recorded for a cast album release
