Events You can Still Participate in to Remember 9/11

Good morning, this is Leslie Harris on the 20th anniversary of 9/11. Many of the events have already been held this morning, but there are still plenty of things happening that you can participate in today.

For example, The 9/11 memorial ceremony and veterans resource Fair starts at 11:00 at Cantigny Park in Wheaton, and there will be a Veteran’s Resource Fair this afternoon. Non-veterans can learn about volunteer opportunities and other ways to support veterans.

The Portrait of Soldier, which features graphite portraits of Illinois servicemen and servicewomen is on display at the Arlington Heights memorial library, through September 30.

There’s going to be a silent parade at 7:15 this evening in Glendale Heights. It begins at 1555 Ardmore Avenue, and continues west on Fullerton to the Village Hall.

You can check out the healing field in Oakbrook which honors lives lost and that is going on through tomorrow at Sports Core field in Oakbrook. Find out more about these events HERE
