Four teenage boys are facing charges related to the massive fire in May at Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles.

A 15 year old from Winfield and 14-year-0ld from Carol Stream are each facing criminal trespass charges.

Authorities say the 17-year-old drove the others — who are his nephew and cousins — to the resort on Main Street around 4:25 the afternoon of May 21st and set papers on fire in a bathtub.

The fire was reported about 20 minutes later.

More than 100 firefighters from more than 25 fire departments were called to ultimately extinguish the blaze, which ultimately took days to fully extinguish hot spots.

The main lobby, Bourbon Street entertainment area and three wings of the hotel were destroyed.

There were no injuries.

It’s reported that the four boys are no stranger to breaking into Pheasant Run resort, with their crimes rising from simple trespassing to felony arson.

After opening in 1963, the resort had been closed since 2020 after failed attempts to auction it off.
