Fun Festival This Weekend in Aurora!

Hi this is Leslie Harris. I love going to cultural celebrations. They’re always so interesting, I always learn something and they’re  always fun.

Most people in the United States think that Cinco de Mayo is Mexico’s Independence Day. It’s not. Fiestas Patrias is the actual Mexican Independence day, and it falls on September 16th.

However, River Edge Park in Aurora has the 11th annual Fiestas Patrias Celebration this Saturday and Sunday. The Aurora Hispanic Heritage Advisory Board will be displaying Aurora’s rich Hispanic culture.

You’ll find some of the areas best food vendors, Grammy award-winning musicians, and entertainers.

The money raised will help pay for scholarships for college-bound Latinos living in Aurora.
