I’m thinking the end of Game of Thrones is significant in two ways. 1. There is a petition out there to re-do season 8 because the writing was horrific. 2. I know how depression sets in when you finish a season of shows. What I haven’t experiencedn since the last episode of Seinfeld, is the loneliness and grief that comes because you no longer have your “show friends” around any more. But there is help. See the two stories below.
Game of Thrones Helpline: The Sun claims Bark.com has established a Game of Thrones helpline to help distraught fans cope with the end of the show. Each one hour counseling session costs $50. Bark.com is known for linking people with dog groomers
The line’s description reads: “The professionals will help them digest their feelings and interpretation of the show, which could range from anger and confusion to sadness and grief.”
Do you want a do-over?
The NY Post claims 1 million Game of Thrones fans have signed a change.org petition to have Season 8 remade because they are unhappy with it.
The lead petitioner writes, “David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on. This series deserves a final season that makes sense. Subvert my expectations and make it happen, HBO!”
