Hi this is Leslie Harris. Eric Clapton was once asked what it felt like to be the greatest guitar player. He famously answered, “I don’t know, ask Buddy Guy.”
I saw a Buddy Guy this past weekend at his club in Chicago called Legends. Legends is not a big place, but Buddy more than filled the room. He’s 86, and still is an amazingly deft guitar player. He has the voice of an 86 year old man, but somehow, it still sounds so good against the backdrop of the blues.
Buddy has been doing a residency at his club for several years, but it’s always in the month of January, which of course is over now.
But here’s the thing, he is coming to the Rialto in Joliet next month on his farewell tour. This is an opportunity you don’t want to miss, and tickets are still available.
And if he does another residency that Legends next January, treat yourself to an unforgettable night. We are really lucky to have him right here in our own backyard.
