Google Calendar Outage Creates Chaos for Millions

In a demonstration of how dependent people have become on Internet services, a Google Calendar outage on Tuesday threw the world into chaos for more than three hours.

The popular service, which is used by businesses and regular people all over the world to keep track of meetings and appointments, disappeared shortly after 9am CST.

Users attempting to check their schedules were greeted by a 404 error page, prompting a flurry of complaints from people who found themselves lost without their cyber Day-Timer.

One user tweeted, “What am I supposed to do? Where am I supposed to be right now?”

After acknowledging the problem, Google remained mostly silent during the outage as they presumably worked to fix it. Two hours after the calendar was finally restored, the Internet giant finally spoke up, but failed to offer what most people would consider a suitable explanation. Company officials only confirmed that the outage was “legitimate” and “part of our migration.”

That didn’t stop the Internet from making me laugh, though!

Hilarious. I love it!
