Grab Your Passport! It’s Illinois Craft Beer Week!
After a two-year hiatus, it’s back, baby! Illinois Craft Beer Week started last Friday and runs through this Friday, May 20th.
Some of the biggest events took place over the weekend, like Beer Under Glass and Small Brewery Sunday, but there are still a bunch of fun to be had while supporting the people who make Illinois beer.
Today is the Keep the Glass Fundraiser! Usually, taking the glassware from a brewery is frowned upon, but today, it’s encourage (as long as you buy it!).

TUESDAY, MAY 17 | KEEP THE GLASS FUNDRAISER
For once, you get to drink the beer AND keep the glass. Support your local brewery and the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild by purchasing a limited-edition, 16-ounce pint glass designed especially for Illinois craft beer drinkers. Available for a limited time only at participating breweries. |

THURSDAY, MAY 19 | DAY OF ACTION
Help Illinois breweries win the right to ship their craft beer product directly to consumers, just like Illinois wineries do. Direct-to-consumer shipping represents a huge opportunity for small and independent breweries to share their beer with consumers all over the country. Today, we ask all Illinois craft beer fans to send an email to their legislators asking them to support direct-to-consumer shipping! |

By the way, IMBIBE stands for “I’m a Big Illinois Beer Enthusiast.” Hilarious.
There’s also the super-popular passport program! It’s all on social media this time, but the basic premise is that when you buy a beer, you get a custom frame. You hold that frame up and snap a pic for social media and use the hashtag #ILPassportPlus to be entered into a weekly drawing for beer gift cards. Summer Passport runs through Thursday June 9. The weekly contest opens each Friday at 12:00 a.m. and closes Thursdays at 11:59 p.m. CT. Winners are announced every Friday.
