Grinchy Thief Arrested For Stealing Decorations from Joliet Slammers Ballpark
A Joliet Grinch is facing charges after he reportedly stole $45,000 in Christmas decorations.
Joliet resident Victor Sessoms, 52, is accused of taking three 12-foot lighted reindeer decorations from the loading dock of the Joliet Slammers’ baseball field on November 11th, police say. He then sold the giant reindeer as scrap, police add.
The reindeer is part of the inaugural GLOW Holiday Festival which opens today at the ballpark in downtown Joliet!
Back on November 15th, the Slammers released surveillance photos of the truck used to steal some of the items. In exchange for information, they offered to donate to the person’s favorite charity and give them a 20-person suite at the GLOW event. It must have worked!
Sessoms, who was arrested and released on a notice to appear, has been charged with one count of felony theft, according to court paperwork.
