It was on this day in 2009, a typical mid-week start for starter Mark Buehrle turned into White Sox history when he became just the 17th pitcher in MLB history to throw a perfect game, just the second in a White Sox uniform!

Here you go, fellow Sox fans. Enjoy it.

The best behind-the-scenes story I’ve heard was from catcher AJ Pierzynski, who was not catching that specific game. He tells the story of Buehrle being late and being a bit discheveld before the game. After some ribbing, Buehrle told AJ that he would go out and throw a perfect game. As the innings went on, AJ explains how Buehrle would make fun of him for not being behind the plate for his pending perfecto. How great is that!?
