Happy Birthday Steve Miller!

Steve Miller was born in Milwaukee on October 5th, 1943 and moved to Dallas when he was six.

Steve formed his first band The Marksmen (with Boz Scaggs) while in high school. He led the Ardells when he was at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

In 1966 the Steve Miller Band was formed in San Francisco.  Two years later his recording career would take off, and by 1993 the band racked up 20 singles on the Billboard charts.

Three songs were #1 hits. Abracadabra was the biggest and topped the charts for 2 weeks in 1982.
