Have a Drink on Me!

Hi, this is Leslie Harris, and today is a very important day in American history. February 20th, 1933 was the day that the 18th amendment was repealed. Now, I think the US Constitution is really important, and when I hear about amendments being repealed it concerns me, but then I read a little bit more about this one.

This was the Amendment about the prohibition of alcohol. Alcohol had been banned in our country since 1920, but even though a majority of the house repealed the amendment, it still had to be sent to each state to be ratified or rejected.The 21st Amendment, repealing Prohibition wasn’t ratified until December of that year.

Anyway, I’m not really buying, (and neither is AC/DC) but have a drink anyway!
