Have You Checked Out The Venue?
Hi this is Leslie Harris, and Saturday night, I was at a new-to-me venue called The Venue.
The Venue is in downtown Aurora, right there in the pedestrian district, across from the Paramount Theater. And what a great venue it is.
The venue is only about 4 years old, and is a beautiful space. It seats 200 people, and 300 standing room only, so it’s an intimate room. There’s also an outdoor stage.
I saw Lil Ed and the Blues Imperials, a great Chicago Blues band. It was awesome! The Venue hosts musical acts of all genres.
The Venue sells beer and wine, and you can bring snacks.
There’s lots of cool artwork like records on the wall, and my favorite, a display of musical instruments. The featured piece is a giant guitar from the set of Million Dollar Quartet at The Paramount, but that piece is surrounded by actual musical instruments that have been painted or otherwise beautified. By the way, there is a trumpet up for ‘adoption.’ You can bring it home and beautify it. Parking is easy too.
