Holiday Happenings this Weekend
It’s Leslie, and even though I don’t like the cold temperatures, I do love all of the festivities. Lots happening this weekend in the western suburbs. Here are the highlights:
Tonight:
The Aurora Winter lights Festival is happening today from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in downtown Aurora. Santa and Mrs Claus leave the parade, and afterwards, they along with Mayor Irvin will light the tree. I always love that moment. And then, there’s going to be fireworks! Stick around for food vendors, holiday characters and music at Millennium Plaza.  Aurora-il.org
Saturday:
The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago is having its tree lighting festival, and there are more than 50 holiday trees, representing different countries. Also live performances from those cultures. The Grand tree lighting is at 11:00  MSIchicago.org
Almost a Winter’s Day happens from 2:00 to 5:00 tomorrow afternoon at SEBA Park in South Elgin. Santa will be around for pictures, they’re going to have ice sculpting, a bonfire, and asphalt curling? southelgin.com
