How Illinois Representatives Voted On Impeachment Inquiry

Yesterday, the U.S. House of Representatives approved eight pages of procedures to go with the impeachment inquiry against President Trump to nationally broadcast public hearings.

The House will move ahead with impeachment proceedings against Trump after a government whistleblower’s claims the president used the power of his office to solicit a foreign government to influence the 2020 U.S. election.

Speaking at the Capitol yesterday, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy called the entire process is a “sham,” and Minority Whip Steve Scalise blasted it as “Soviet-style.” House Oversight Committee Ranking Member Jim Jordan said Democrats are trying to impeach the president based on a “biased” whistleblower complaint.
