How Leslie Dropped Her Cholesterol Nearly 70 Points, Naturally

Hi, Leslie Harris here. During the lockdown, like so many people, I ate like crap. I hadn’t been to see a primary care physician for a while, so when I got my cholesterol tested late that year, I was shocked when I was told it was 297!

My cholesterol had never been above 199, and the PCP wanted to put me on statins immediately. I began working with a naturopath.

I already was not eating red meat, but I also cut dairy, added a lot more vegetables, a high quality omega-3 supplement, and beta glucans.

My cholesterol dropped 98 points in 4 months, however, it’s been fluctuating ever since. This past December, it was 240, and the PCP again wanted to put me on statins. And then, the naturopath told me that exercise might help, but a very specific type of exercise.

She told me I had to elevate my heart rate to the point where I was panting, and to sustain that for at least 15 minutes, at least 3 times a week. Well, I made sure I was sustaining my heart rate for at least 45 minutes, at least five times a week.

I’m happy to report that I had my cholesterol tested again last month, and it’s down to 171! It’s never been that low. Other benefit are that I’ve dropped a few pounds, and now I actually crave that exercise.
