Hey we made it to Friday … time to go BIG or go home.   Sometimes a song is so BIG that they need to tell you in the title.  Whether it’s Fleetwood Mac singing about BIG Love or Peter Gabriel singing about BIG Time …

But I had to go with a song where not only is there BIG stuff in the title of the song but also in the name of the band!  In a Big Country” is a song by Scottish rock band Big Country. It was released in May 1983 as the third single from their debut studio album The Crossing.  In the mid eighties this song was constantly on the airwaves of MTV (it’s a fun video).  The height of the band’s popularity was in the early to mid 1980s, although it retained a cult following for many years after. What made the band so fun was that it  incorporated Scottish folk and band engineered  guitar-driven sounds to evoke the sound of bagpipes, fiddles and other traditional folk instruments.

Sadly we lost Big Country lead singer Stuart Adamson to suicide in 2001.   So in his memory I would like to take a moment to remind you that you are not alone and asking for help is always okay.  Please call 1-800-273-8255 for help or go to this address for more information https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org/
