This is Leslie Harris, and today is National Kick Butts Day.
No, that doesn’t mean you go around beating people up, or being awesome, although I always encourage you to be awesome. Today is the day to kick cigarette butts to the curb.
I know that quitting smoking is really hard. I smoked when I was very young, but I know the longer you’ve smoked, the harder it is to quit.
National Kick Butts Day is a day of anti-smoking activism. It was started in 1996 by The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids (but it’s not just for kids)
So if you smoke, today is the day to quit. And if you’ve quit and started up again, quit again! Never stop quitting!
And if you know someone who smokes, today is the day to help them kick smoking to the curb.
