If you missed the first one, you missed a heck of a party! Over 3,500 filed into the prison yard at the Joliet Correctional Center on Collins Street for the party. This year will be even bigger, with more food, drinks and bands on Saturday, Aug 24th.

Our good friends the Ides of March will be performing, along with Hot Mess, Great Moments in Vinyl and the Nikki Hill Band.

Dan Akroyd’s Crystal Head Vodka will be available with a specialty cocktail made just for this event, and an artists showcase from the Old Joliet Prison’s Burnt District artists (who have salvaged materials from the abandoned prison and created works of art).

Tickets are $40 with proceeds going to help restore and revitalize the prison.

If you want to check out the prison, but can’t make the party, they do offer guided tours! Here’s some info on that.
