New event name… same delicious cause!
There are hundreds of Dunkin’ restaurants in Illinois participating in this morning’s “Coffee for Champions” event (formerly called “Cop of a Rooftop”). The purpose of the event is to raise money for Illinois Special Olympics! Danielle Tufano is at the Dunkin’ (near the intersection of Route 47 and Galena Blvd) in Sugar Grove until 9am!
Now until the end of the event (at 12pm), everybody that donates to the Law Enforcement Torch Run will get a coupon for a free doughnut. People who donate $10 or more will get a Law Enforcement Torch Run travel mug and a coupon for a free medium hot coffee.
Unfortunately due to the pandemic, the event did not take place in 2020. However… in 2019, the Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run raised $5.3 million. Special Olympics Illinois is a not-for-profit organization that provides year-round training and competition in 18 sports to children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
At the moment, more than 23,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities and more than 13,000 children young athletes ages 2 through 7 participate in Special Olympics Illinois programs.
So come out… grab some coffee/breakfast… say hi… and make a donation for a great cause. Danielle is broadcasting at the Sugar Grove Dunkin’ until 9am!
