Join Us In Celebrating Record Store Day with An All-Vinyl Live Broadcast in Plainfield

Last year was such a hit, we’re at it again!

Record Store Day, which takes place on April 22nd this year, is a celebration of the culture surrounding vinyl records and independent record stores. To mark the occasion, Leslie and I are broadcasting live at Black Dog Vinyl Cafe in Plainfield and playing two hours of nothing but vinyl!

We will comb through the stacks of wax at BDVC and play some of the best rock to ever be pressed into PVC.

We’ll be live at soon as the doors open at 10:00 a.m. Our all-vinyl broadcast is a part of Vinylthon, when radio stations throughout the world celebrate the unique format of vinyl by broadcasting shows from vinyl. The money raised will be awarded as financial scholarships for students who want to work in radio.

In addition to our live broadcast, the the Record Store Day party at Black Dog features performances by local musicians. At 2:00 pm, the house band from School of Rock Plainfield will take the stage at the cafe. This group of talented young musicians is sure to impress with their energy and passion for music. Later in the afternoon, Holden Garcia Music will perform from 4-5 on the cafe stage. With his soulful voice and acoustic guitar, Holden’s music is the perfect complement to the warm and inviting atmosphere of Suite 114.

As the sun begins to set, Lorenzo D. will take the stage to perform a set of classic hits from the 60’s through the 90’s. With his smooth voice and dynamic stage presence, Lorenzo is sure to get the crowd on their feet and singing along. It’s the perfect way to cap off a day of celebrating the beauty of vinyl records and independent record stores.

But that’s not all – there are still more surprises to come! The organizers of the event have hinted that there will be more musical performances and special guests throughout the day. It’s a testament to the vibrant and creative community that surrounds vinyl records and the independent record stores that keep the culture alive.

If you’re a fan of vinyl records and live music, this event is not to be missed. With a diverse lineup of musicians and DJs, there’s something for everyone. So mark your calendar for April 22nd and join the celebration at Black Dog Vinyl Cafe. Who knows – you might just discover your new favorite record, even if it’s from an old favorite aritst!
