Keep Pets Safe this Holiday Season

Hi, this is Leslie Harris, and as you might know, I’m a huge animal lover. Here are some tips to keep our pets safe this holiday season:

I love to burn candles this time of year. It’s so dark and cold, and candles just lighten the mood, but be sure to keep them well out of reach of your pets, especially if you have cats. Cats are notorious for jumping up onto tables and shelves.

Mistletoe must also be kept out of reach, unless you are using artificial. Mistletoe is toxic to pets.

When you’re baking your holiday goodies, have a special, pet appropriate treat on hand so you’re not tempted to give your begging pet a sample of your Christmas cookies.

If you have a real tree, be diligent about sweeping up the fallen pine needles as they can be harmful to your dog.
